For those of you I have not had the pleasure to meet, my name is Anne-Marie Rhodes. I am an Ohio State, Cleveland Browns, water polo, swimming, sailing, skiing and lake loving lady.
I am the oldest of 4 girls (my sisters are 25, 23 and 21….how the heck did that happen) and wish like crazy I could convert my Wolverine sisters to Columbus full time! My sisters and I have lived in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio, so we are blessed with friends all over the mid-west! My husband for just over a year and a half and I have an 8 year old golden retriever (I got to adopt him through marriage) who wishes he was still a puppy! We bought a house in January 2017 and have been busy with house projects ever since!
I love to cook almost as much as I love to eat! Even though I am a baby when it comes to spicy food, there haven’t been too many things I have tried and not liked. I love sushi, pizza, seafood, ice cream, cookies, peanut butter, Doritos, coffee, green tea, pizza, buffalo chicken dip, garlic bread and every type of fruit (just don’t give me kiwi, I am allergic)! We have recently converted to a paleo-style diet (only about 80% of the time) so I am learning and creating a lot of new recipes and paleo friendly versions of my favorite meals.
I am a very social person, and I love spending time with people of all ages. I am in my 6th year of teaching (all at the same school– first 5 years just 6th grade and this year 5th and 6th grade)! One of my favorite things about teaching in a K-6 building is I get to meet so many young students and get to see them grow into the 11 and 12 year olds I have the honor and pleasure of teaching. I get to love on pre-preschoolers on Sundays while I teach a Sunday School class for 4-year old darlings and during my second job at a local restaurant, I get to interact with community members of all ages.
I am excited to share my journey in the classroom as well as out of the classroom and interact with new friends and familiar friends.
